Has Your Adorable Puppy Turned Into A Terrible Teen?

  • Do walks lead to frustration for both you and your dog?
  • Is your dog no longer listening to you the moment another dog appears?
  • Has your dog’s recall gone out the window as they run off to play with other dogs and completely ignore you?
  • Does your dog know what to do, because you’ve done loads of training with them already, but won’t do it in the park or around distractions?

It’s not your fault. Their brain is rewiring, their body is changing and their hormones have kicked in. We need to help them through this tricky stage of development so they can grow into happy adult dogs you can enjoy spending time with.

Your Dog Won’t Just Grow Out Of These Behaviours

Without help

If you don’t help them through adolescence, these annoying behaviours can become lifelong habits which are harder to break.

With guidance

If you can guide your dog through adolescence, it will result in a more confident, happier dog and a stronger relationship between you and your dog.

Navigating The Teenage Phase Doesn’t Have To Be This Hard

I can help you guide your dog through the teenage phase so they can mature into a happy, confident dog you enjoy spending time with.

I can help you implement strategies to make this tricky stage of your dog’s development more manageable for both you and your dog.

I’ve Helped Hundreds Of Dog Owners

I’ve helped hundreds of dog owners understand their dogs and get back to enjoying time with them, rather than being frustrated by their behaviour.

  • PACT: Professional Association of Canine Trainers
  • ABTC Registered Animal Training Instructor

I completed my dog training qualification with the Professional Association of Canine Trainers (PACT) and I am registered as an Animal Training Instructor (ATI) with the Animal Behaviour and Training Council (ABTC). This means I have to adhere to certain standards, follow ethical guidelines and complete fifteen hours of Continued Professional Development each year.

These qualifications and registering are not mandatory. It’s something I have committed to because it shows that I offer up to date, good quality, ethical dog training advice.

I am certified in Canine First Aid and renew this certification every three years.

What Other Owners Say

  • MegDexter the Cavapoo

I reached out to Rosy Paws when my puppy first hit the dreaded teenage years and we were both struggling to deal with his intense feelings about other dogs. He was stopping dead, staring, whining, and just generally being a really weird off-putting little guy despite being otherwise a very lovely dog. The theory Rosy explained and the techniques she suggested have made a huge difference in terms of our ability to enjoy walks in our busy city centre neighbourhood. I no longer feel drained by constantly having my head on a swivel in case another dog appears thirty feet away.

  • Winston the West Highland Terrier
    LaurenWinston the West Highland Terrier

We sought help from Rosy with our Westie pup Winston when he hit adolescence. He had become very reactive to other dogs through excitement and we had no real idea how to help him, and us as owners, get back to enjoyable walks. We saw huge improvements over our time with Rosy, to the extent Winston can now go on weekly pack walks with our local dog walker and not be phased. As a visual learner, I really appreciated the graphs and documents provided throughout.

  • Rey the Cocker Spaniel
    JohnRey the Cocker Spaniel

Before we contacted Rosy, Rey struggled to walk to heel and was always getting over stimulated by new places, people and things she would want to explore. If it wasn’t safe or appropriate for us to let her go, she would have these huge barking tantrums. Rosy worked with us to teach Rey how to manage her excitement levels herself and now she’s an excellent heel walker. We continue to use the techniques Rosy taught us and I cannot recommend her highly enough.

  • Hamish the Labrador
    LaurenHamish the Labrador

Our dog Hamish is an adolescent Labrador and is hugely overexcited by other dogs, meaning it had become really challenging to walk him anywhere without him barking, lunging, and even yodelling at the sight of other dogs. Walks had become a real battle and were frustrating for all of us. She took time to understand our challenges with Hamish and what work we’d already done so we could keep building on that consistently. The progress we’ve made over our sessions has been so positive and has actually made our walks enjoyable again.
